About Dalton Byrd
I am an undergraduate student at Western Kentucky University (WKU), pursuing a degree in accounting with an expected graduation in Spring 2026. With a 3.9 GPA, I am focusing on financial accounting, taxation, business law, and auditing, with plans to pursue a law degree and specialize in corporate, tax, or criminal law. I aim to combine my legal and financial expertise in a career in federal service, contributing to public policy, law enforcement, and regulatory compliance.

Alongside my studies, I work as a Flexographic Press Operator, where I troubleshoot mechanical issues and optimize production flow. This role has honed my leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills as I collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency.

As a United States Marine Corps service member, I’ve developed leadership and operational expertise in high-pressure roles. These experiences have shaped my ability to lead teams and execute complex missions under pressure.
Key Military Roles:
-
Special Reaction Team (SRT) Member: I responded to high-risk security situations such as hostage rescues and active shooter events, using advanced training in urban warfare, close-quarters combat, and tactical operations. I led missions with law enforcement and military units, ensuring success while minimizing risks to personnel and civilians.
-
Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team (FAST) Squad Leader: As FAST Squad Leader, I led security operations to protect U.S. naval assets from terrorist threats, executing rapid-response missions globally. I coordinated with federal agencies, maintained team readiness, and mentored Marines to ensure operational success.
-
Combat Marksmanship Coach: I trained Marines in precision marksmanship, focusing on weapons handling, safety, and combat readiness. My role ensured that Marines met rigorous standards and integrated marksmanship skills into broader mission scenarios.

-
Platoon Sergeant: I led and mentored a platoon, managing training schedules, coordinating operations, and ensuring overall readiness. I focused on the professional growth of Marines and maintaining discipline, while ensuring that our platoon consistently met tactical and operational objectives.

-
Designated Marksman Chief: I oversaw the development and training of designated marksmen, ensuring their skills were integrated into larger missions, contributing to the platoon’s overall effectiveness during deployment.

-
Training Chief: As Training Chief, I planned and coordinated all training activities for my company, ensuring personnel were mission ready. I worked with senior leadership to identify skill gaps, develop training schedules, and execute joint exercises with other military branches.

Looking ahead, I plan to combine my academic training in accounting and law with my leadership experience in the Marine Corps to serve in federal service. I am committed to applying my analytical and leadership skills in law enforcement, regulatory compliance, or public administration. Outside of academics and work, I remain active through competitive sports, fitness, and outdoor activities that foster resilience, discipline, and teamwork. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and camping, all of which help me maintain a balanced, focused mindset. Additionally, I compete in shooting competitions, continuously improving my marksmanship skills and testing my precision in high-pressure environments. I am also dedicated to mentorship and helping others achieve their potential, ensuring environments of collaboration and success.
